Waste
Management
Our Environmental Department provides
client counseling on complex issues relating
to waste identification, waste handling,
waste recycling, and facility permitting
and operation. This work has ranged from
analysis of applicable requirements on
a nationwide basis to single-site hazardous
waste issues. Our Department has also
provided counsel on the hazardous waste
requirements of various other countries,
including hazardous waste export and import
requirements. In addition, we have represented
clients in hazardous waste permitting
and siting proceedings and in facility
closures. Our attorneys also have experience
in the solid waste management field, including
counseling and representing clients in
the siting, permitting, and management
of landfills, transfer stations, incinerators,
and refuse recovery plants, and performance
of due diligence and preparation of environmental
opinions for waste-to-energy facilities
in Georgia and elsewhere. We also have
advised clients on management and disposal
requirements for radioactive waste and
medical waste.
